First off, Belle Isle is 100% underrated especially this little “hidden” gem of a garden by the clock tower. Second, this was one of my favorite maternity sessions of 2025.

Then, once the sun went down a little more, we headed over to the east side of the isle and went to the beach! Would you believe me if I told you that we had to FIGHT for space and that I ended up editing out so many people from these images!? (Millennial LOL!).

Lauren | Family

I absolutely loved this session and this family. Mama wanted to make sure her husband was able to get some good images of him and his daughters as well as their whole family unit. We mixed some candids/prompts with some strict poses - which is honestly how I run all my family sessions, so you get the best of both worlds.

And in all Nina fashion of a family session, I always take time to make sure I capture just mom and dad because I think it is the most important. Some of the first things we forget to do when we have a family (and I am not saying this couple has) is to prioritize our marriage because we are so worried about the kids. But I make it a point during my sessions to prioritize your marriage. So, do not be alarmed if I ask you and your spouse for some images of just you during your session.

Brittany | Beach Mini

Beach mini with some of my favorite ladies! I have been photographing this family since their oldest was one! Brittany quickly went from client to friend and our girls love hanging out.

I am bringing back beach minis again in 2026 and I could not be more excited about it. I try to do these the third or so weekend of July at Stony Creek Metropark on a Friday night! I might also try and get some creek minis at Rochester Municipal this year as well, so stay tuned!

Marisa + Anthony | Engagement

The one thing I really love about engagement sessions is that they showcase you! Marisa and Anthony had one of their first dates at Yates Cider Mill and then Anthony proposed there as well. So having their engagement session at Yates was only fitting.

We started on the trail with some more traditional and posed images before they both got warmed up.

Then we headed back up to the front to get some photos by the barn.

Then we obviously had to get some cider and donuts because what trip to the cider mill ends without donuts and cider? None. The ONLY correct answer is none.

Snowball Fight | Lifestyle

I got my camera out to grab some cute videos of my girls playing in the snow …. My husband came out and started a snowball fight with the girls. I am not mad the result! And would also not be upset if anyone wanted to book a snowball fight, snowy bonfire, sledding, or ice skating session this winter!

We are also trying to hit 1000 hours outside this year and I am so excited to try new outdoor activities with the girls. Do you have a favorite outdoor activity? We took the bigs ice skating for the first time last week and they did pretty well.

Blake's Hard Cider | Branding

Before this session, I had been asked to do a couple sessions to just photograph some new beers they had coming out. This was so much fun though! I absolutely loved working with their marketing team to get this branding session for their winter merch drop!

Branding sessions should not only showcase your brand/merch, but also how you would wear them, how they can be styled etc. I loved that they had some t shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies and beanies for this drop!

Heyyyy! It's Me, Again: Nina

Hi Again. I am so bad at blogging but I am trying really hard. But its the first Monday of 2026 so lets see if I can make blogging consistent this year!? I have so many sessions from last year I need to blog and just havent so lets do another intro!

Hiii! I am Nina! The face you’re going to see at your sessions + your weddings. My husband and I will be celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary in March, which is crazy that it’s been that long but also seems so short at the same time, which is probably a good thing? We have 3 little girls (who are not so little anymore) and I homeschool them.

We have a pretty slow lifestyle and prioritize family and Jesus/church over everything. I do not schedule sessions on Sunday mornings, Monday nights or Wednesday nights because we have church, prayer or Bible Class. Jesus is the center of all the things I do around here, so I do my best to make sure I can make it to church as often as possible.

When I’m not at sessions, homeschooling, or at church I am learning grandma hobbies or at the gym. I started canning a couple years ago but this past year we really started to do more and more to become more self sufficient when possible. We plan on starting a bigger garden this year too - We have had some bad luck but have been doing a lot of research so in Jesus name, this will be the year we have a great garden!

I also really love to read and between all of that, I managed to read 103 books last year!

Monica + Ross [Wedding]

Okay, Okay, get all your “Friends” references out now! They are not related + they are in LOVE! Actually these two were so adorable and I loved capturing their day. It was sooo laid back + it doubled as a family reunion so most of their gallery is family portraits of all their different combinations of families.

We took a small break in family portraits to capture their ceremony, which come to find out, this was Ross’ first wedding and Monica has been the first and only person to get him to finally get married, which is amazing and adorable and I love that so much for them.

After their ceremony, we finished with formal family portraits and took some time to each. We finished the day with stealing the newlyweds to the docks and capturing some intimate images of them together, just the two of them.

Telesha + Jon [Vow Renewnal]

When Telesha + Jon asked me to photograph their vow renewal, I was elated! It was for their 20th wedding anniversary and they were having a private vow exchange on the beach up north on Lake Michigan. The “ceremony” was nothing short of love filled, God centered, prayerful and not a dry eye left the beach.

We started the day with all the girls (not pictured) going to downtown Petosky to do touristy things. Then went back to the house to get ready. We did a first look at the tunnel of trees and dodged SOO many cars in the process, but it was 100% worth it and I would 100% do it again.

Then, we headed to a dune area to do formal portraits that included family, friends that doubled as their “bridal party”.

Finally, off to the beach for their private vow renewal. They had personal vows and just read them to each and ended their ceremony with a watch exchange + prayer. And of course, we couldn’t not do sunset photos on the beach.

Kelsey + Chris [Wedding]

This wedding kicked off my entire wedding season this year and it was honestly such a good wedding experience. My second, Emily, and I showed up to witness Kelsey finish getting ready and do all the detail shots. Then we went to the venue for the first look. It rained, then it stopped. It rained, then it stopped. But we were able to have the ceremony outside as planned, and capture all the family portraits before it started to rain again.

Once the reception was on it’s way and we all ate, we stole the couple to go to the pier with an umbrella, because rain, and captured some amazing photographs on the pier with a back light, some flashes + an umbrella in the rain. What should’ve been sunset, was rain + an umbrella but the images turned out so good and they’re unique to their wedding, which I love.

The reception was nothing short of amazing too. From the first dances to the actual dance floor being opened, everyone had such a good time and was dancing and just having a blast.

There’s just something about that mom girl glow that intensifies with baby giggles and baby snuggles.

This was a motherhood mini session but I always try to do mom + babies only during full and petite family sessions too. I think having images of just you and your babies is so important. So catch me always throwing dad to side for a minute (and he doesnt care anyway! he likes a break!).

Memorial Day

It’s Memorial Day and so many people think that this is another Veterans Day, it is not. Today is the day we remember all the men + women that gave it ALL for us to live in our country. It is not a day to thank our Veterans, and most of them do not want to be thanked today because if they served over seas at all, they probably lost a friend or two that they are grieving today. So today, pray for the families that lost loved ones. Today, pray for the families that never got a real chance to say goodbye. Pray for the families that had to find out that their spouse was killed in duty because uniformed men and/pr women showed up to their door to tell them.

Today, remember those families + pray for them, and wait until November for Veterans Day to say thank you to those that made it back and/or are still serving.

Enjoy your BBQs and kick of to summer, but just remember what today really is about.

Michella | Motherhood

These two. I absolutely love photographing the two of them every single year. They started off as clients in 2021 for London’s 5th birthday and have since become more than clients. Michella has shown up to church, allowed us to love on them and pray for them and overall is just such a good and genuine human.

Watching their bond grow over the past few years has been nothing short of wonderful to watch and be able to capture.

Clients turned friends, will always be what this is about for me. Not because I want friends or need them, but because it’s about more than just photography. It’s about being invited into your memories and freezing them. It’s about genuine connection with people.

Zayn + Anastasia [Petite Newborn]

I LOVE twins! When mama reached out to me about this session I was so excited. She said she had originally went to JCPenny but did not receive quality experience or images from her session. So to say I was a little nervous is an understatement. But with providing mom + dad with my prep guide to get the babies ready for their day, we were able to get so many good images for them to choose from.

They chose a wrapped session, which means the babies stay wrapped the entire time. We were able to do 3 wrapping techniques; huck fin, full potato + toes peeking.

Most of the time, my wrapped sessions are a max of 90 minutes, but with two babies, we were still done within 2 hours.

Another note for twins, my pricing is the same! I will never charge you more because you have 2 or more babies. :)

Nico [Lifestyle Newborn]

Lifestyle newborn sessions are new as of last year. I have been a studio posed newborn photographer for the past 8 years but with switching most of my entire life to slow living photography and to capturing more moments than posed life, I figured I should switch over my newborn sessions as well. I do still offer posed newborns and I do still include at least one wrap/prop set up with my lifestyle newborns but having this option, especially for summer outside newborns, has been so much fun to transition into.

This session was so special because it was actually supposed to be a maternity session. Mama had some complications and had to deliver little Nico via C-Section a handful of weeks early. Both mama are doing well now but we had to transition from maternity to newborn. And then they showed up in sweats and honestly, I LOVED the whole vibe of this session. Nicos romper is in my client closet too!

Now booking newborns into November - which is WILD to say!

Emily + Kyle | Elopement

Elopements! Take me with you! This Hawaii trip was honestly so fun. Would I go back for anything other than work? No. But I am just being honest. It was absolutely a once in a lifetime experience, the hiking was AMAZING, I still crave acai bowls, the wedding was beautiful, the location was top tier but if you ever go to Hawaii, do NOT stay in Wakiki. That was my only complaint!

BUT! If you are planning on eloping this year or next year or even in 2027, lets chat! I would love to be your third wheel for your weekend/week!

Jeremy | VW Mini

VW bus minis for fall minis last year were absolutely amazing. I am bringing Bubbles the VW Bus back this year but we are doing a big change in scenery! I am taking Bubbles to Eastern Market! Think casual, downtown, urban, order a pizza, whatever floats your boat to bring your vision to life!
