Mama originally booked Cole with me during Santa Mini Sessions and quickly afterwards booked Cole’s smash cake session. I was really excited about it because I LOVED Cole’s story. Cole was born at 28 weeks and spent some much needed time in the NICU. He was able to graduate NICU and come home and has been growing and hitting all his milestones on his actual age, not adjusted! Which is incredible!

For his smash cake session, mama wanted to do a “look how far I’ve come” theme and I obviously was all for it. I had mom send me soo many images to showcase his first year and ordered a fleece photo blanket for the backdrop and added in some prints and frames. We kept the background black and white to make sure little (big) Cole was the center of attention with a green outfit. And as for the session itself, Cole did AMAZING! He smiled so much, loved his cake and enjoyed his bath/splash afterwards!

Overall, this kid is not lacking in anything from being a preemie and NICU baby. I truly loved hearing his story and love miracle stories like this. I also am so honored that I was trusted to capture this memory and session for this family. I am looking forward to watching him continue to grow and hit every single milestone from here on out!
